Final update: @nationalgriduk have completed their emergency works on the M5 both directions between J22 and J23 near Bridgwater.
Road reopened.
There are delays of up to 45 minutes in the vicinity. These are expected to clear.

All roads have reopened on M5/M4 link at J16 (Almondsbury Interchange).
The hard shoulder remains closed on the M5 south to M4 west link due to damage caused by the incident.
Lane closures will be in place later to repair the damage.
